A god, a monster, and a fatty in sweats

The most anticipated Pro Day of this pre-draft season was the one at USC. The Trojans have two of the top four, three of the top ten, and four of the top sixteen prospects in the draft class. Those four featured names are Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Winston Justice, and Lendale White. Two of those names helped themselves considerably. One tarnished his name substantially.

After a dominating performance, Bush has
found himself all alone atop the draft board

A god: Reggie Bush, RB
You can't teach speed. You can't dream of a running back with 4.33 speed. Top it off with a 40"-plus vertical jump and 24 reps @ 225lbs, and Reggie Bush has solidified his position at the top of the draft board. In positional drills, Reggie failed to disappoint as well. He displayed excellent hands and showed off his all-world agility and acceleration. In true god-like form, bounds of activity will be followed by subsequent, deserved rest for Reggie: "I felt good. I feel like I came in here today as the No. 1 guy, and I think I'm leaving the same way. So, in that sense, it's pretty satisfying. Now I can kick back and go to the beach for a few days."

Winston Justice is a physical freak

A monster: Winston Justice, OT
Jump. Get out a yard stick. Make a mark on the wall 3" above that. Jump again. Imagine being able to jump to where your feet are equal with that line. Now, imagine a 6'6"/320 monster that high off the ground by his own power. Winston Justice is nasty athletic. Do I need to mention the 38 bench reps @ 225? How about the 5.04 40-yard dash time that included Justice coming up lame just before the finish line due to a sore hamstring. He stumbled into the finish line on one leg and still put up a dominating time. Simply put, Winston Justice is a monster. Some scouts are giving him a higher grade than D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Let's not get carried away.

LenDale's stock looks about as bad as he did today

A fatty in sweats: LenDale White, RB
Bad: Being called soft. Worse: Your physique is being referenced. Worst: You're an elite NFL prospect. LenDale White took a big hit at the USC Pro Day. He showed up -in a baggy Adidas sweats- to warm up with no more than five minutes to spare before the workout began. LenDale weighed in at a portly 244lbs, and managed only 15 strength reps during his sole action of the day. He claimed his strained hamstring as the reason why he was out of shape, but that does not excuse him from lacking upper body strength. The first-round grade is in serious jeopardy. He better show something to scouts sooner than later.
